President / Treasurer Formerly a certified athletic therapist, Meghan began working in safety in Manitoba's manufacturing industry before gaining several years of experience in New Zealand working at Cadbury Chocolate and as an independent auditor for a national employer certification program. She also has an Occupational Health and Safety certificate from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional. Megan has been an active board member of IPAM for the last 8 years.

Past-President Lyle Cherniak began his career in construction in 1983. His apprenticeship began in July of 1983. Along his journey, he received his Red Seal as a carpenter in December of 1988. Lyle moved on to Safety Co-ordinator at Pre-Con Builders in 1995 and achieved COR certification for the company in 2005.

Program/Events Coordinator Kevin has been a safety professional for 15 years working in public education and for the past 10 years has been at the University of Winnipeg managing the safety program. Kevin joined IPAM to broaden his contacts with others in the field and to contribute to the variety of programming the association provides. Kevin's experience in the field of safety started in rural EMS where he spent 20 years as a volunteer with Roblin-Shell River Fire and Rescue where, between calls and working pancake breakfasts, he developed and delivered public education for fire and life safety and delivered first aid courses. Kevin has variously been a provincial basketball official and baseball umpire, following his passion for both sports and has four kids who are all above average in every way.

Marketing and Communications Alex Rowntree had been in Safety & Environment since Sept 2001 and is currently the Manager of Environment, Health and Safety and Sustainability. During that time, he worked in many different industries. He started out in pharmaceuticals, then moved to furniture, rocket and missiles, academics, aerospace/satellites, foundries, construction, malting and currently in plastic manufacturing. Each of these have their own unique challenges for safety and environment impacts. Alex enjoys the challenges and is always looking for new ways to promote safety and best practices. His role on the board of IPAM is Marketing and Communications and every chance he gets to tell people what IPAM is, does and supports, he informs them. He encourages you to come out and join as a member, it is a great networking opportunity.

Director-at-Large Passionate about staff training and development, Rebekka has over 25 years experience in sales, marketing, management, and training in many industries, including financial, legal, health and wellness services, as well as construction and trucking. For the past 15 years, Rebekka has worked as a Safety Manager, Auditor and Trainer and is excited to bring this expertise to Globe Property Management. A quadrilingual, Rebekka understands the importance of comprehension and retaining information when speaking the language of safety. Rebekka is also an Emergency, Standard and Psychological First Aid Instructor. In 2015, Rebekka received her designation as a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) and is looking to pursue the Certified Registered Safety Professional designation (CRSP). Rebekka is on the Board of Directors for the Incident Prevention Association of Manitoba (IPAM), sits on the committee for the annual Safety & Health (previously NAOSH) committee and is on the Advisory Council for the Sales & Service Safety Association (S2SA). She is also involved in the Safety and Social Committee at Globe Property Management. Rebekka volunteers with different organizations and enjoys spending lots of time with her family and friends.

Director-at-Large Kristine Chabot is a dedicated professional with a multifaceted career as the Health, Safety, and Environmental Coordinator for Western Industrial Services Ltd., Able Crane Services Ltd., and Western Construction Services Inc. With a persistent dedication to fostering a safe and healthy work environment, Kristine plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing comprehensive safety programs to ensure the well-being of employees both on and off the job. A graduate with honors from Herzing College on September 29, 2023, Kristine holds a diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. Demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development, she is actively pursuing her NCSO designation, followed by her CRSP designation, showcasing her dedication to excellence in the field. As an esteemed member of the IPAM board since February 2023, Kristine actively contributes to shaping industry standards and best practices through arranging lectures, round table discussion, workshops sessions, and networking. Her involvement in the planning committee for Steps for Life, a division of Threads of Life, reflects her passion for supporting families affected by workplace tragedies and preventing future incidents. Organizing the Winnipeg Steps for Life walk, Kristine actively fundraises to benefit her local community. In her professional capacity, Kristine excels in providing innovative solutions to complex issues, effectively communicating organizational goals, and driving continual improvement. She has played a key role in supporting the HSE Officer and team by planning, coordinating, and implementing effective HSE policies, guidelines, and procedures. She ensures that worksites are fully compliant with company policies and all applicable Federal, Provincial, or Territorial Occupational Health and Safety Regulations. Kristine has a proactive approach in promoting a positive health and safety culture and conducting thorough investigations into unsafe acts and situations showing her commitment to preventing reoccurrence and maintaining a safe working environment. Outside of her professional endeavors, Kristine places a premium on maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Her diverse range of interests includes painting, reading, traveling with her significant other of 16 years Nicholas, and taking leisurely walks with her dog Ellie. Kristine Chabot is not only a dedicated professional but also an individual with a strong commitment to community engagement.
